Hi everyone,Well, we went to the farewell dinner and disco last night
and had a great time. We knocked out some moves on the dance floor. We were able
to watch some traditional dancing. During dinner there were lots of celebrations
and presentations. We were given lots of gifts to bring back to school. The
Italian host families joined us for the night and they all seemed really
friendly. We got back to the hotel really late and couldn't wait to go to bed.
Luckily we were able to have a lie in.Met the other children this
morning at 10am outside the Uffizi gallery. We saw some fabulous paintings. In
each room we all had to find a fact about one of the pictures and share it with
each other. We now have loads of information to share with you all. We had a
nice cold drink on the rooftop terrace of the gallery. When we went for
lunch at the Plaza Michaelangelo (up 199 steps)we found ourselves in the middle
of an Italian wedding. Strolling back to the hotel we managed some last minute
bargains and souvenirs before saying a final goodbye to all our new found
friends who were returning to their host families for the night. As a
special treat for an unforgettable week Mrs Thompson and Mrs Norton took us the
the Hard Rock Cafe in the middle of Florence. We had a lively discussion about
where we want to take our friends when they visit us in England.Although
we are tired we will never forget our time in Italy and can't wait to see you
all tomorrow.
